The story takes place in feudal Japan during the Taisho period. Two siblings, Daki and Gyutato, are demon brothers who have been alive for centuries due to their demonic bloodline. They live off of human flesh, targeting young girls between the ages of 6-15 years old.

Daki is a younger sister who possesses an extraordinary ability known as 'Bakunetsu no Joriki' or 'Crimson Breathing.' This allows her to control and manipulate fire at will. Her brother Gyutato lacks this special gift but makes up for it with his incredible strength, speed, and agility.

One day while searching for their next meal in the bustling streets of Kyoto's Yoshiwara district they come across two young women named Abe Kazuko (also known as Tsubakihime Oiran) who seems to possess some sort of unique aura about her. Intrigued by this phenomenon both siblings decide to investigate further.

As fate would have it, Abe Kazuko turns out not only possessing an extraordinary ability but also harboring a dark past filled with trauma and pain from being sold into prostitution at such a young age. Seeing similarities between themselves in terms of their own troubled backgrounds Daki feels drawn towards her immediate bond forming almost overnight despite having never met before.

However things take turn for worse when another powerful demon named Gyutato (no relation) appears on scene hell-bent upon claiming both sisters as his own. The stage is set for an epic battle between good and evil with the fate of Abe Kazuko hanging precariously in balance...
